Eumedion requests Dutch listed companies to better report on long-term value creation and diversity
Eumedion has requested all Dutch listed companies to better report on their view to create long-term value for all stakeholders, including the wider society, and their strategy to realise this. Better reporting on the long-term value creation model will be one of the Eumedion focus points for the 2019 reporting and proxy season, as reflected in the recently sent 2019 Eumedion Focus Letter.
The Focus Letter contains Eumedion's priorities for the dialogues between Dutch listed companies and Eumedion participants in the run-up to the 2019 general meetings. In the 2019 Focus Letter, Eumedion requests companies to indicate how the interests of the relevant stakeholder groups were taken into account when making significant strategic decisions. Eumedion further calls on the listed companies to report better on board diversity (in a broad sense) and skills within the executive and the supervisory board. Eumedion recommends to incorporate a so-called board skills matrix to highlight various kinds of diversity which are present in the boards, such as diversity of tenure, gender, age, nationality, knowledge, professional experience and the socio-cultural background.
